They flocked to our deep-fried turkey dinner

[flagallery gid=20 name="Gallery"]

One of the biggest dinners served in our calendar year is the annual Christmas In July feast centred on deep-fried turkey. This year, 14 18-pound birds were prepared starting 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15. When done to a deep golden brown, the birds are then carried to the kitchen where a phalanx of volunteers carve them With people starting to line up at 4:30 p.m. for the 5 p.m. opening, the team was busy putting the final touches on the new potatoes, cranberries, Caesar salad, gravy, stuffing and pumpkin squares. It went like clock work. Over 225 people dined. It was a great meal — and no snow anywhere! Thanks to all who attended and volunteered!
