Title: Monthly Pool Tourney

What a team! We’re back under the leadership of Branch 187 President Patti May!
There were no elections, but they were called for, at the May membership meeting of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 187.
Zone Commander Dave Colter asked three times for further nominations but none were forthcoming as he went through the roster of Br. 187 executive members. As Prez Patti says, “We’re a great team,” so we returned to office for another great year ahead.
It’s a roll call of incumbents: President is Patti May; first vice is Kim Hickson, 2nd vice Ray Babcock; secretary Paul Coleman (who paid tribute to his nominator Tim Post); honourary treasurer Gord Gray; and executive committee members Brenda Graham, Marilyn Babcock, Bill Bachellier, John Fox, Nancy Heighton and newbie Glen Hess. Mandy Martin was appointed to the committee. Expect more appointee announcements in the near future. Hey! We’re small (to the wider world) but mighty!

Now we’re springing into spring, we’re changing up our mid-month dinner menu Friday, May 18. Our famous homemade hamburgers will be grilling. As a new presentation, we’re baking potatoes and offering a medley of special toppings: chili, blue cheese, salsa, baked beans, roasted onions, bacon bits…. build your own tater taster! For dessert — get ready! — chocolate and butterscotch sundaes. Just $10 per person serving 5 to 6:30 p.m..

The annual Colborne Apple Blossom Tyme Festival takes place May 26 and 27. Colborne Legion prepares a special apple-themed dinner served starting at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26 to ensure all festival-goers, or those who want a great meal at a terrific price, are satisfied. Apple-braised beef with mashed potatoes, an apple./cheddar/onion salad, fried onions, rye breads and apple cheese cake for dessert, accompanied by tea and coffee, are yours for just $10 per person.
