The countdown has started for the annual Colborne Crahame Santa Claus Parade! The Parade Committee invites you to participate in this traditional community event. Let’s celebrate our community!

We encourage all Colborne/Cramahe businesses, community groups and our neighbours to participate to make this year’s parade bigger and better.

There are many creative folks in our community. Start thinking now about your special float entry in the annual Colborne/Cramahe Santa Claus Parade Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 7 p.m.. This annual event depends on community support and participation.

Theme For This Year

This year’s theme is “Christmas Colours”.  Please note the theme is simply a suggestion to get your creative juices flowing. While there is a prize for the float best depicting the theme, other prize categories are open to all participants.

Prize Categories

Prizes are awarded to the best entry in the following categories:

  • Industrial
  • Commercial
  • Churches/Schools
  • Youth Group
  • Service Club
  • Family and Walkers.
  • Best Overall Float
  • Float Best Depicting the Theme


To encourage participation, an additional category — “filler” — has been added. This is to provide an opportunity for local businesses, farmers and specialty vehicles to enter their company car or truck, farm vehicle or specialty vehicle. These entries make the parade longer and more varied — and it’s an easy way to advertise. We ask only that the vehicle have some sort of Christmas decoration – be it a bow, lights, reindeer ears, etc.

Parade Route

The parade route begins at the corner of Elgin and King Street East, then travels west along King St. E into downtown Colborne, north on Division, west on Church St. to Ontario St., south on Ontario St. to King St., dropping Santa off at Victoria Park where he will distribute goodies to all the children post-parade.

Entry forms and regulations for the November 24 parade wiil be available  November 2 at the Colborne Legion, McGlennon Insurance, Downey Pharmacy, Colborne Municipal Offices, Colborne Public Library, Castleton General Store and Castleton Public Library, or  on-line at

Entry Deadline

Completed forms must be returned to the Legion no later than November 19, 2018  or e-mailed to The parade committee must have a completed entry form to prepare the list for judging and to assign the actual parade line-up.

Donations Welcome

While there is no charge to participate, donations to support the parade costs are gratefully received. Cheques can be made out to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 187 and delivered to the Legion or mailed to: Tracey Loveless, Parade Chair, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 187, P.O.
