In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made at the funeral home or directly to the Parkinson Society or Northumberland Hills Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Donations will be gratefully acknowledged.

COLBORNE —  This month’s roast beef dinner will be Friday, Feb. 3, serving 5 to 6:30 p.m. for just $10. That includes homemade soup, mashed potatoes, glazed onions, broccoli, breads and, tad da!, gingerbread with lemon sauce for desert. Serving 5 to 6:30 p.m.!

There’s a bid euchre tournament the first Sunday of every month at Colborne Legion. Sunday, Feb. 5, register ($5 per player) by noon for an afternoon of play. Great prizes to be won! Light munchies served, too!

Love is in the air! Set the mood, and at a very good price, at our second annual Valentine’s Breakfast, Sunday, Feb. 12, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.. Scrambled eggs. breakfast sausage, baked beans, pancakes and syrup, ham, fruit salad, orange juice, white or brown toast plus tea and coffee are being served. Cost if $7 per person, kids under five years free. We heart our valentines!

Here’s your cue to some fun! The monthly Fun Pool Tournament welcomes players of all calibers who are paired at random with other entrants. There is a monthly fee of $6 which covers the cost of the lighting and prizes. There is also a one-time lunch fee of $15 which covers the cost of a light lunch during all our tournaments (that’s under $2 for all eight tourney dates!).

Always wanted to boot scoot? Get the line on line dancing at the regular weekly Line Dancing Class held Tuesdays 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.. Cost is just  $5 and beginners more than welcome. Kick up your heels!

Executive and members, monthly meetings will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Colborne Legion. The executive convenes at 7 p.m., followed by the general membership meeting at 7:30 p.m. The next Ways and Means committee meeting will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27.

Come in from the cold! The February mid-month dinner — the Winter Comfort Casserole Supper, Feb. 17 — will feature a ham/scalloped potato casserole plus a beef/noodle casserole, Ceasar salad, rolls, and for desert(s)— Pie R²! That’s pie prepared as squares, in this case, key lime and buttar tarts. Remember, too, homemade by our cooky, Marilyn Babcock, and her elves. Tea and coffee are also included, all for just $10 per person serving 5 to 6:30 p.m..

Welcome to our first roast beef dinner of 2012 on Friday, Jan. 6. Enjoy our home-cooked roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, a root veggie medley, salad and apple cake for dessert. The $10 cost per person also includes bread, tea and coffee from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

There were 96 Christmas hampers delivered in Cramahe Twp. this past Christmas. Many thanks for he generosity and support of so many people, not only through financial donations and gifts of food and children’s items, but also in hours of volunteer labour. Our support of the Cramahe Twp. food bank continues year-round.
