Time to pay 2017 dues is approaching. The Early Bird Campaign starts on September 1st.
At the Dominion Convention held in June, a motion was passed to raise the per capita both this year and next.
Per Capita is the portion of dues the branch has to send to Command each year. The increases mean our branch dues need to also go up.
The executive has discussed this and feels the dues will rise once, this year, and not next year.
The increase will not take effect until after the General Meeting on September 20th even though the increased payment to Command will start on September 1st.
So, if you wish to save $5 on your 2017 dues, pay before September 20th.
A corn roast and silent auction will be held on Saturday, August 27th starting at 5pm. The cost of admission for the corn, burgers etc is $10.
Many donations of goods have been received for the Silent Auction which will take place at the same time. The items will be on display at the branch starting Thursday, August 25th. Drop by anytime after 1pm to view and make your bids.
The draw for the prizes in the raffle the tickets have been on sale for will also take place at the fundraiser.
All Proceeds to the Fort McMurray Legion Br. 165
While 90% of the neighbourhood around the Fort McMurray Legion burned during the wildfires in May, the branch and even the flag outside remained standing. There was smoke damage to deal with and the branch is slowly getting re-opened. The branch members are busy providing help and support to the community through donations that are coming to them from across the country.
Come on out Saturday and add your support.
